ABSTRACT
The extraction of oil from African walnut was carried out and the Proximate analysis was Conducted on the extracted oil to determine its Peroxide value, acid value, Anisidine value, Thiobarbituric acid value, Total oxidation value and the analysis of oil quality Results showed the Peroxide value of the oil was 13.29, Anisidine value was 23.53, TOTOX value was 51.11, thiobarbituric acid value was 3.35 and the acid value was 49.65.
All results were obtained at 100°c.
The results obtained From the proximate analysis of the oil shows that the oil extracted from African Walnut seed
Was compares favorably with the other oils and has oil potentials both as domestic oil and Industrial oil. Also, the waste product can be converted to other byproducts such as bio-fuel
