ABSTRACT

This study was on corporate social responsibility with MTN Cameroon in Buea as the case study. The study spanned from 2010 to 2020 and was divided into five chapters each having a specific element it is addressing. The study was carried using the quantitative method of research and the case study design was employed. The questionnaire had the likert scale and each objective targeted five questions where the respondents had to choose between strongly agree, agree, strongly disagree, disagree and an option was given for neutral. To test the hypothesis for the research, the chi-square method was used. The study had three main objectives that ran through the entire work. These objectives were: identify the different activities of MTN Cameroon in carrying out its CSR, to examine the benefits of these activities to the government and the community and to assess how corporate social responsibility affects organizational performance. The theory used for this work was the World Society Theory. World Society Theory (WST) is based on the principle of social interaction that highlights the importance of international institutions and culture. WST helps to understand the influence that a global culture has for instance on nation‐states’ actions, organizations and individual around the world without a global governance, more like a whole statelessness dynamic
