recommendations.Alsoincludedarethevarioustaxsystemsandtaxtypes
inCameroonandadetailedofallactivitiesconductedduringtheinternship

CHAPTERONE
INTRODUCTION
1.1 Backgroundofthestudy
Internshipisanopportunitytointegratecareerrelatedexperience
intoandundergraduateeducationbyparticipatinginaplannedand
supervised work.

Internship can also bedescribed asaperiod of
apprenticeship, whereby students work off campus under the
supervisionofafactory,hospital,businessorgovernmentagency.
Duringthisperiod,studentstrytoputintopracticethetheoryofwhat
theyhavelearnedinclassandtogainexperienceintheirchosencareer.
Internshipprovidesrealworldexperiencetothoselookingforwardto
gaintherelevantknowledgeandskillsrequiredtoenterintoacareer.
Internshipsarerelativelyshortterm innatureandprimarilyfocuseson
givingsomeoneonthejobtraining,andtakingthetheorylearntinthe
classroom and applying to real-world. Internsnormallyhave their
supervisors,whoassignsspecifictaskstothemandattheendevaluate
theiroverallperformance.

Internshipenhancesprofessionalism,itis
based on practical orientation and real-world experiences.
Unlikeothertraditionalvocationaltrainingprograms,internships

learninggoalsoftheinterns.

inclassroomorrather,matchestheorytopractice.
 Involveasupervisioncomponentthatismentoringandeducational.
Thissupervisionshouldbedoneattheleveloftheorganization.
 Promoteacademicadvancement,personalandprofessionalgrowth.
 Attheendoftheinternship,studentsshouldgothroughanevaluation
process.
