CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
1.1- GENERAL INTRODUCTION

An internship could be defined as the position of a student or trainee who works in an organization, sometimes without pay, in other to gain work experience and to satisfy the requirements for a qualification. An Internship could also be defined as the achievement of an experience in an enterprise and how to throw the idealism of the theory which are better appreciated in the realities of the activities of the enterprise.
It is also an opportunity for a student to examine the level of theoretical notions mastered to rebuild this mastery and also to have an idea on his or her competence to conceal the theory and to practice in a goal of integration in the professional world by developing one’s own entity or bringing innovations to the current ones.

The bases behind writing a report during court and chambers attachment is one of the significant fulfilment required to meet up with the law course: Court in Action (Law 496).The internship went on for over four weeks that is from the 3rd of August 2021-31st of August 2021 in Fako Limbe South West Region of Cameroon at MONONO-EYOMBO LAW FIRM HOUSE situated at Manga Avenue Limbe.
1.2 GENERAL PRESENTATION OF THE CHAMBERS
1.2.1. HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT

The Law Firm was founded by Barrister Henry Ngale Monono and his late partner Barrister George Eyombo both of Cameroonian origin. Barr. Monono was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1982. He came to Cameroon and was called to the Cameroon Bar in 1992. The Firm was opened in 1992 in Kumba. His partner in chambers was Barr. George Eyombo. When Barr. Eyombo died in 2010, the firm was transferred from Kumba to Limbe and has been functioning in Limbe since then.

1.2.2. FUNCTIONING OF THE CHAMBERS
Monono-Eyombo Law Firm House is made up of an organization of lawyers and pupil advocates arranged in hierarchical order. It is made up of Seven (7) barristers (one of late) making it six (6), 2 advocates in training and a secretary. Each barrister has his own office in the firm. At the secretary’s office, is a shelf containing cases which have already been decided upon by the court, newspapers, magazines, legal journals and legal textbooks. They serve as useful materials in reading, keeping and updating records of cases which have been entertained by the firm.

The Secretary plays a vital role in the firm. She is responsible for receiving clients, putting the library in order, documentation and taking down the daily records about the business of the firm. The secretary is also in charge of receiving mails, answering services of court processes on behalf of the Firm; she types and prints relevant documents needed by the lawyers and pupil advocates.
The pupil advocates are left with a burden to assist the lawyers in carrying out other activities in the firm such as preparing cases to be filed, carrying out research and undertakes legal errands for the firm. The pupil advocate sometimes equally gives legal assistance to clients who come to the firm to seek for legal advice on matters that concerns them.
